“We admire the
work of the Minnesota Family Council. These
friends are extremely effective in arming people with sound reasons to vote
their values. I hope everyone will pray
for this great work and support it financially and generously.

1. Voter Registration
Drive
- The Minnesota Family Council has partnered with Focus on the
Family to get-out-the-vote in churches across Minnesota. This effort, called Election IMPACT,
has registered over 500 churches with more being added daily. This effort will translate into thousands
of Christians voting biblical values in November. For more information go to mnvoter.com
2. Success draws fire from national and statewide organizations.
- Pastors in Willmar received a threatening letter
highlighting the dangers to tax-exempt status should their “religious
beliefs” directly or indirectly favor a candidate. The letter, sent by an attorney, was a
blatant attempt to scare pastors from speaking out on moral issues. One pastor remarked the mailing was “intended
to chill the voice of the Willmar area faith community in the upcoming
election.”
- Opposition growing - Several national
speakers opposed to church based voter registration efforts have
suddenly scheduled speaking tours in Minnesota. The local press is exploiting these
opportunities by providing ample press and airtime to intimidate local
churches and curtail our voter registration efforts.
- Demonstrations - OutFront Minnesota
is planning a demonstration at the “Stand for the Family” rally featuring
Dr. James Dobson, of Family Research Council and the Minnesota Family
council. Other speakers include
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, Gary Bauer and Pastor Ken
Hutcherson. Click here to learn
more about the “Stand for the Family” rally October 10th.
