'Twas the week before Christmas
(a parody of "'Twas the night before Christmas" by Clement Clarke Moore)

'Twas the week before Christmas, when all through the State
not a single legislator was working real late.
The files were hung in their offices with care,
knowing that the 2007 legislators soon would be there!

The liberal majority nestled snug in their beds,
visions of same-sex marriages and comprehensive sex-ed danced in their heads.
And OutFront in its 'kerchief, and SEED in its cap,
had just settled strategies and took one last pre-session nap.

When out on the Capitol grounds there arose such a clatter,
they sprang from their bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window they flew like a flash,
tore open the shutter, and threw up the sash.

When, what to their wondering eyes should appear,
but Minnesota Family Council's pro-family lobbyists, showing no fear.

With a dedicated plan to help families across the state,
immediately visible was the need to donate.
Giving as generously as possible to the cause to fill the need,
here’s a list of things they need to succeed:

No same-sex marriages! No comprehensive sex-ed!
No marriage penalty in social programs supported by the state or the fed!
On "Support our Students"! On, "True North"!
On, efforts to support pastors and churches continuing forth!

We need fatherhood initiatives for Minnesota dads!
And access to the medical records concerning their young ladies & lads!
From Moorhead, Marshall, Albert Lea and International Falls!
We’ll bring pro-family legislation to the capitol halls!

Dressed in the armor of God, from head to feet,
unfazed by attacks from opponents that meant to defeat.
with donors, 1,000 Churches, and 100,000 petition signers showing their support,
ready and willing to defend the pro-family fort.

Their goals--how needed! The efforts, so true!
But as the efforts expand, the need for additional support does too!
With biblical values snug in their heart,
standing for truth, they will never part.
