Call to Prayer
It's time to get on our
knees and ask for God's mercy as Minnesotan's are about to select their leaders
on November 7.
Seek
God in choosing our leaders
Exodus 18:21
"But select capable men from all the people -
men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain - and appoint them as
officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens."
Prayer
- Pray for wisdom and peace in choosing a candidate.
- Pray that others will seek candidates with biblical values.
- Pray for
all candidates so that God may bless them and their families for what they have
done and will do. Great service is
given just in the campaign.
- Pray about
Election Day. Pray for good weather, a
healthy turnout, and fair elections. -
Pray that God will watch over every polling place and that His will may be
done.
- Pray that Godly candidates will win.
Seek
God for our government
To
have an impact on the direction of our state government we must pray.
2 Chronicles 7:14 states:
"If my people, who are called by my name, will
humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their
land."
1 Timothy 2: 1-4
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests,
prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all
those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness
and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be
saved and to come to knowledge of the truth."
Prayer
- Pray that our leaders will come to know Christ and
be saved.
- Pray that
leaders at every level of government will seek the guidance and wisdom of God

Pray that leaders will have the strength of character to uphold what is right
and good, even when it is not popular or politically expedient.
- Pray for protection and wisdom for our leaders' families and advisors.
- Pray that our actions will be a testament to the
teachings of the Bible.
Seek
God's direction on issues
- Marriage as between one man and one woman.
- Sanctity of life.
- Parents as guardians of their children's healthcare, sex
education and mental health.
- Parents as the final authority on matters in public education.
- That God will raise up real
leaders who will act on moral
issues in our state and federal government.
- That our leaders will come to understand that our rights and
institutions are part of our endowment from the Creator.
- That God will wake up the sleepy pulpits and pastors speak
boldly.
- That those who want to silence the church and people of faith
will be brought to repentance and come to know the Lord.
