Everyone knows the international distress signal for ships at sea. That acronym, S.O.S., is also the fitting name for a new pilot program launched by the Minnesota Family Institute (MFI) in April. Responding to distress calls from parents who see their children as the targets of gay activists, MFI is ready to help with S.O.S. — Save Our Students. In schools across Minnesota, we are witnessing an aggressive and deceptive agenda being implemented in the public schools by gay activist organizations such as the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (P-FLAG), District 202, and Outfront Minnesota. Under the guise of safety and diversity, these activists are introducing children as young as first grade to sexual lifestyles that are unhealthy and dangerous. These kids are encouraged to accept and celebrate perversity even before they have an understanding of normal sexuality. S.O.S. is a seminar designed in response to the numerous calls from parents concerned that their authority is being undermined. They see their children being put at risk of sexual confusion and disease through the affirmation of promiscuous alternate lifestyles. The half-day S.O.S. seminar equips parents and other concerned citizens with the tools they need to counter the dangerous misinformation campaign by gay activists in the schools. The seminar begins with educator Barb Anderson presenting the origins and strategies of the gay agenda in a segment entitled “The Diversity Deception and the Kinsey Connection.” In “Breaking the Silence,” psychologist Karen Hart addresses the roots of homosexuality, its issues, and hope for healing. Following Karen’s powerful presentation, Nate Oyloe shares the personal story of his struggle and recovery from homosexual desire. The morning concludes with the compelling video No Tolerance For Truth, which documents the intense propaganda war being waged in our schools by aggressive pro-gay forces. Included in the video is testimony from parents, teachers, and school board members who have themselves battled the deceptive gay activists in their communities. You, too, can play an important role in exposing the gay agenda and insuring that only truthful information about homosexuality is presented in the schools. There are many hurting teens who desperately need our help to find their way out of the maze of sexual confusion. It’s time for responsible adults to reach out to them and offer real help and hope for change. Barb Anderson is coordinator for the Minnesota Family Institute’s RESPECT project.
