Facilitator Training

How to Drug Proof Your Kids® (DPYK) is a facilitator led program designed to equip parents with vital parenting and communication tools that help foster discussion and build strong family relationships between parent and child.  In this two-part program, Focus on the Family trains facilitators at DPYK Facilitator Training events, and then encourages and equips those facilitators to hold DPYK Parent Groups in their communities.  We believe parents are the strongest force against drugs, and we are looking for individuals who are motivated to make a difference in the lives of children in their community, by becoming facilitators of this program. Facilitator Training Details

            Time: Training is a day-and-a-half

                        Day 1 -            Registration   8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.

                                                Training          8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (lunch provided)

                        Day 2 -            Training          8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Cost:  $99 per person

                        $79 each for 2 attendees

                        $69 each for 3 or more attendees

Cost includes leader’s guide as well as materials to conduct parent groups.

Parent Program Details

Individuals who attend the Facilitator Training are certified as DPYK Program Facilitators and can hold parent groups in their community.  Facilitators secure their training locations and promote and conduct their own parent groups.  Parent manuals are $20, and facilitators are able to pass the cost of the parent’s manual, as well as any other costs incurred, along to their participants.  Ideas to minimize participant’s cost by involving community leaders to help underwrite the cost of a parent group are discussed during the facilitator training.
