The Debate Over Marriage Is Far From Over

Just as many thought wrongly that Roe v. Wade would end the debate over abortion, Obergefell v. Hodges will not end the debate over marriage in America. Similarly, just as many thought incorrectly that people of faith would "get over" their belief in the sanctity of human life beginning at conception, people of faith simply cannot "get over" their belief that marriage is the union of a man and a woman.

We are overwhelmingly grateful to Representative Miller and the Minnesota House for their leadership in protecting students' basic physical privacy and safety rights…. Of all the things parents have to worry about, the Student Physical Privacy Act ensures that parents won't have to worry about their child encountering someone of the opposite sex when they use the restroom or change for gym at school.

Legislators introduce bill to protect students' privacy & safety

Today, legislators responded to those they represent. The Student Safety and Physical Privacy Act will ensure that students will always have their privacy rights protected when they are in intimate settings away from home, under the supervision of school officials. The Student Safety and Physical Privacy Act will require that schools maintain facilities (bathrooms, locker rooms, etc.) separated based on biological sex, while ensuring that schools can continue to meet individual student needs for students who are uncomfortable using the facility that corresponds with their birth sex by providing access to a private, faculty, or other facility.
