Urgent News

it's a wonderful life...in Him

With the clock ticking down on the close of 2015 and the start of 2016, I want to relate something that’s been much on my mind and heart these days.

Earlier this month, I wrote about Jesus coming to offer life abundantly(John 10:10).  Perhaps like you, though, recent events have caused me to take a step back and ponder the preciousness of being alive at all.

All around us – in Paris, Colorado Springs and San Bernardino – we see wanton disregard for human life.  But this utter contempt for life is not just found in the perpetrators of these awful deeds.  This contempt manifests itself every time an unborn baby is intentionally killed.  We see it in physician assisted suicide and in the business of commercial surrogacy, where women and children are reduced to commodities.

Narcissism, numbness to violence and disregard for the sanctity of life are epidemic – and totally at odds with the Gospel of Christ.

The spread of this idea that every human being is made in the image of God and therefore has intrinsic worth and dignity, literally changed the world.

So, as we celebrate Jesus’ coming to offer life abundantly, it’s imperative that we revive this teaching and proclaim it wherever and whenever we can.

And that’s exactly what we’re doing at Minnesota Family Council.  We are active in the political process, because we firmly believe that Christians are called to stay informed and engaged in the making of laws that govern our lives. But we’re just as committed to strengthening churches, speaking out on behalf of the unborn, promoting Christian worldview and raising up young men and women who are well grounded in Christ and motivated by biblical values that are core to who they are.

It’s why in our homes, at our office and in the public square we unabashedly hold up the Bible as God’s Word for all mankind – His guidebook for human flourishing.

At Minnesota Family Council, we are committed to restoring biblical values to the heart of our culture. Is this mission something the Lord has placed on your heart as well?

I joyfully announced earlier this month that this year’s matching gift challenge is the biggest we’ve ever had – thanks to the generosity of a core group of supporters who really believe in this work.  And then others stepped up and committed even more to advance our mission!

The total matching funds available to us is now up to an amazing $200,000!

This is unprecedented … and it could be course-altering … but only if we are able to take full advantage of this historic opportunity.  And with God’s blessing, we can!  With the December 31st deadline almost upon us, will you join with us?

Any gift you give from now through December 31st at midnight will be doubled, and will help us reach our unprecedented matching challenge!

We believe the message that life is sacred and precious has never been more needed than today. While the world around us is throwing it away, we must proclaim its worth.  We must remind the world, beginning with our own neighbors, of Jesus’ mission:

“I have come that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10b)

 For life in Him,
