Alert – Your legislators need to hear from you today!

Please contact your legislators and express your deepest gratitude for standing for marriage as between one man and one woman. Thank them for allowing the people of Minnesota to have this important conversation about marriage and the importance of passing the amendment.

As you may know by now, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed the Minnesota Marriage Amendment by a bi-partisan vote of 70-62. The Senate passed the measure earlier this month.

PTL!

Passage of the amendment means that the people of Minnesota will now have the opportunity to vote on the issue of marriage in the 2012 election – like voters have done in 31 other states.

Also, thank them for conducting the debate in a civil and respectful manner. In fact, several legislators who opposed the marriage amendment said that they appreciated the patience and willingness to listen demonstrated by marriage amendment supporters during the House floor debate.

In particular, MFC would like to thank Sen. Warren Limmer for his tireless efforts over the last seven years to ensure that the people of Minnesota will be able to define marriage.  And, Rep. Steve Gottwalt for finishing strong and getting the bill to the finish line in the House.

A little thanks goes a long way.

Please, contact your legislator now and express your heart-felt gratitude for allowing the people to vote on the definition of marriage as between one man and one woman.
