Educational Choice for Children Act
The Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) would allow students of all educational backgrounds to receive scholarships to attend schools which suit their educational needs.
Overview
According to Invest in Education, a leading organization supporting this legislation, “The Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) would generate billions of dollars in annual private charitable donations to fund scholarships for use in K-12 education. The ECCA is funded by private donations to non-profit scholarship granting organizations (SGOs) to distribute scholarships to students; donors receive a 100% non-refundable federal income tax credit. The funds could be used to pay for tuition, tutoring, special needs services, homeschooling curriculum materials, and education technology, among other eligible uses. Over one million students across America could use the scholarships to attend schools that best meet their educational needs as determined by their parents.”
